Compared to many, Grayson started quite young. After seeing Kenny Loggins
perform at the nearby Fraze Pavillion in 2014 at the ripe age of 8, he and his
Dad, Steve, had the fire for music lit inside that continues to burn. Soon after,
the two started learning guitar together and eventually began performing at
local open mics and bars/restaurants around their hometown and surrounding
area as an acoustic duo. They continue to do so while also being accomplished
musicians in their own rights.
Grayson is inspired by the music of the past, that he’s been introduced to by
his parents or ends up finding when diving deeper. His favorites are the
Eagles, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffett, The Beach Boys, and the Bee Gees. He
wears his influences on his sleeve, with a lot of the songs he writes coming
out in similar veins, blending Poco and Eagles-like country rock, smooth 70s
soft rock, and singer/songwriter folk, and making them all his own. This
doesn’t stop him from incorporating more unique sounds into his work
however, he often dabbles with blues, psychedelic rock, bluegrass, and funk
for a fun and eclectic mix. On top of the sounds, he sings relatable lyrics that
are often poetic and confessional, or just silly, often singing about topics like
love, heartbreak, relationships, life, nature, the FBI, and bigfoot.
When Grayson’s not performing and playing his own music, he makes a
splash in his school community. He played in the middle school jazz ensemble
all 3 years of middle school, played in a high school jazz band during his last
year of middle school, and has marched bass drum for 3 seasons in the school
marching band. Aside from band, he’s a part of the suicide prevention group
Hope Squad, in both the National Honors Society and German Honors
Society, carries a 4.2 GPA, and was sent to the Hugh O’ Brian Youth (HOBY)
Leadership seminar for southeastern Ohio, held at Marietta College in the
summer of 2023.
Grayson currently resides in his hometown of Centerville, Ohio and continues
to perform and busk in the area, write songs, record and release songs with a big project on the
way soon!
